Tuesday

I was seriously tired as it took both of my alarms to wake me up. I straight way began to get ready for school. Made and ate breakfast packed my lunch before getting ready. Rain clouds had enclosed the area so I walked with my umbrella and by the time I left my house and reach by a neighbouring building the rain came crashing down.

I sheltered the rain there until it stopped, by the time I reached the main road, sun was shining out and the area had dried off so much that you could not tell that rain had just fallen. I of course felt somewhat angry because I had my umbrella to carry around.

Got a van shortly after and was in school in no time, traffic was a bit minimal today as it was moving faster than normal (still slow). I of course was late for class but the lecturer had not started teaching as yet so I was okay.

That class ended and I was off to Basic Programming, which was supposed to be in the lab but after the room had a terrible scent of varnish as some new furniture had been added to the lab, the class was moved to a neighbouring class. We went into the basics of programming before we ended early.

My next class was at 1, some of my friends had come to school early so I hang out with them before we ate lunch and then continued with more random discussions.

I went to my maths class, I managed to understand what the lecturer was doing until he gave a second example and I was WTF did he just do.

That class finally ended at 2 and I did not have another class until 3 so I went back to my usual location and some more of my friends were there and we talked and did some random stuff before we ran out of the classroom for making too much noise, however my class was about five minutes off so I just went to that instead.

My last class for the day and made sure to get a seat next to the door because the room was hot and also to be the first one out as soon as the class ended.

The class ended early so as soon as I reached the bus stop I got a bus and headed home. Straightway I turned on the computer and wrote up the film review for The Avengers before my sister wanted to use the computer so I did not get to publish it.

Nothing special was showing on TV so I went in and listened to some music before falling passing out, at around 1 I was jolted out my sleep by a loud thunder, which was followed by rain.

Comedy

Plot: Two best friends decide to have a child together while keeping their relationship platonic, so they can avoid the toll kids can take on romantic relationships.

This movie is based around a group of friends who were all very close. Now one friend announces that they are pregnant (the couple in the far left of the poster) and they all make promises that they will still be out going. A couple of years past and now (the couple in the far left and the center of the poster) both have kids and the two best friends (far left) are still without kids, and goes to visit their friends because, it was someones birthday. After a crazy night at their friend’s house, the two best friends, go to a bar where one of them come up with the idea that they should have a kid together, not as a couple, but as friends, because they felt like they should just get it over because they did not want to deal with all the headaches of marriage.

They think it over, and told their friends about the idea, all of them were skeptical with the idea, but supported them. At first it was awkward as they were close but they went through with it. Before long, the baby came along, at first it was challenging but they got the hang of it and worked out a schedule of who got the child on which night. After a couple of weeks or months, they were back out on the dating scene. He found the girl of his dreams (Megan Fox)

Some more weeks or months past and the friends including their date all go on a ski trip, there was the various introductions and awkward moments. Then things got heated during dinner, and feelings got hurt and words were exchanged. After the trip, the couple in the center, got divorced and things moved on somewhat normally. Then came the female friend’s birthday and she invited only the father of her child, and told him about her feelings for him, and he rejected her, and she then moved out of the building and over to Brooklyn supposedly for better education for the child.

Some more weeks past and we see him visiting the child and the tension that is still between the two former friends. He then goes and talk to the friend who had gotten divorced, they apologized for the things said at the ski trip, and the friend asked him, why they never tried the relationship, and he compares her to a limb and the friend finally makes him see his love for her and he. He gives her the birthday present that he was planning on giving her for her birthday before things got awkward between the two. He drops off the kid and delivers the kid, who starts asking questions and forces them to both share a moment until, they both put him to sleep, which is when he said that he wished he could stay, and tells her about his feelings, and she kicks him out, he drives off and then comes back again and declare his love and asks her to allow him to prove how much he loves her.

All in all a great movie to watch and has its funny parts. (this was actually supposed to be posted on Saturday 21st but I couldn’t go online)

Action | Crime | Drama

Get the Gringo is an action packed movie. It’s almost like every ten minutes someone is getting shot or shot at. Besides the action it has a pretty good story line which is based around the “Gringo” played by Mel Gibson after being arrested and placed in a Mexican jail he befriends a kid and his mom and vows to protect them from harm. You will enjoy this movie if you are a Mel Gibson fan or an action junkie.

(Spoilers)

So the movie starts off with Mel Gibson dressed in a clown suit, being heavily pursued by United States Border Police. Now while all that is happening an accomplice who is also in the car is bleeding internally and is coughing up blood all over the money. So one thing leads to another and the Border Police starts shooting at him, first taking out the back window and then one of the tires, which causes Mel to lose control of the car

before turning the car back into a ramp which allows the car to break through the fence and lands on the Mexican side of the border. There is some dialogue between the US and Mexican Border Patrol and the Mexicans agree to give the prisoner to the US, but after seeing the money in the back of the car the Mexicans have a change of heart and decides to keep the prisoner.

Mel is taken to a holding cell before taking to a “prison” which is more like a housing program for convicts with the only rule is that you do not try to escape. After a couple of days, He realizes that if you have money that you can purchase a day-off from having to do work at the prison. He decides to start a fire as a distraction while he robs a drug joint. Thinking he got away without being seen, he meets a kid who asks him for a cigarette, after refusing, the kid tells him that he saw Mel robbing the drug joint, which causes Mel to reluctantly give the kid a cigarette.

Mel and the kid become friends and the kid tells him about the ins and outs of the prison, and Mel tells him why he is in the Mexican prison. The kid reluctantly tells Mel that the prison owner killed his father for his liver and about his rare blood type, and also that the Kid also has the same rare blood type. He then meets the kid’s mother who at their first boxes him down, but the second time they meet the have a conversation about the kid, which is when Mel promises that he would not let the kid’s life be taken like his father’s.

The rest of the movie after that point consists of an awesome shoot out between the persons who were hired to retrieve the money Mel had stolen, Mel blowing up a room etc.. Like I said Action Packed Movie.

Horror | Thriller

Sorority Row is at best an average movie it can almost be likened to Scream 4 with the hooded killer and tricked out killing weapon. It has some great killing scenes and the actors aren’t all that bad the movie is more of a gore movie that a horror.

(Spoilers)

The movie starts at a sorority party for the house. (I can’t remember its name) The girls who are all sisters meet together except for one member who is busy with her boyfriend who is one of the sisters’ brother. Now in the middle of the missing sorority sister making out with her boyfriend (more like him making out with her because she was laying motionless) she starts throwing up and shaking violently. He freaks out and goes to call the other sorority sisters who were watching the whole time and were on their way to the room. When the sisters (some of who did not know that she was acting) get to the room they perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her until she started making out with one of the girls which is when everyone (the girls alone) realized that she was acting and that it was a prank to get back at her boyfriend for cheating on her. Anyways they get into one of the girls’ Escalade and started driving supposedly to the hospital but again supposedly in all of the commotion and fright the driver makes a wrong turn and they end up at an abandoned property. Now there was some talk of how they should get rid of the body (you know to make the prank believable) and they talked about placing her underwater and that this wouldn’t work because she had air in her lungs, well one of the girls came up with the idea of smashing her body apart using stones.

So the girls set off to look for sharp stones to smash her apart with, now the girl who they left lying in a blanket on the ground, now the freaked out boyfriend who was quite dumb to begin with, decides to take out the tire iron that was in the back of the vehicle and plunges into her chest in the mindset that it would remove the air in her lungs now of course the girl who was actually alive starts to actually go into seizures as she bleeds out from having a tire iron through her chest. Well the boyfriend learns that it was just a prank and he had just killed his girlfriend, one of the girls wanted to go to the police but none of them could as it would ruin their futures as they were involved in the prank. So another girl (the bitchy one) comes up with the idea to dump the body in a well and that if anyone asked that she had disappeared, all of the girls agree to this except the one that wanted to go to the police, so in an attempt to save themselves they said that if she went to the police they would blame the murder on her, so she reluctantly gave in.

Eight months past and they are now at their graduation, everything appears to be back to normal. Then all the girls receive a picture of a tire iron the same one they used to kill the girl. They immediately think it was just a prank by the dead girl’s boyfriend who went psycho after her death. The girls decide to shrug it off until one of the girls freaked out thinking she had seen a ghost (the dead girl) but it was actually the dead girl’s sister, after calming the girl down they tell her about the text and after calming her down they started preparing for the annual party the house would usually throw. Now one of the girls (the slutty one) she has an appointment with her psychiatrist who is a sleaze bag (surprise) anyway she goes to freshen up and while doing so the doctor who was hand cuffed to his bed was killed (rather sweetly) by the killer, now when she comes out from the bathroom she thinks he is just playing around and decides to sit and wait for him to come out, while doing so she heard some clanking on the walls and started calling for the doctor (you know the usual horror movie thing) well she lays down and started drinking a bottle of vodka and while she lied there drinking, the killer came up and shoves the bottle down her throat (which was kind of ironic).

Well by this time the party is now in full swing and the killer is already fast at work having killed a girl who was hiding in the showers. The girls received a video that apparently came from the dead girl’s phone which directs them to go to the place they had killed her, when they get there they meet the dead girl’s boyfriend who had a shard of glass in his hands and thinking that he was either the killer or going to kill them, he was ran over until it appeared that he was dead. The girls return to the house to find the party had died out and everyone had gone to an after party. The killer had stayed in the house and was busy killing everyone who knew about the killing, until there was three of them left: the nerdy girl, the one who wanted to call the police and the dead girl’s sister, and it is then that we find out that the killer is actually the girl who wanted to tell the police’s boyfriend who decided to kill all of the girls except for her because he had heard of what the girls had done from the nerdy girl even though they had all said that no one would ever find out. At this time the house is on fire and the boyfriend who is mad from having his girlfriend deceive him decides to kill everyone, but forgets about the nerdy girl who comes up behind him and knocks him down into a whole in the floor which drops him down into the basement which was engulfed in flames (it is assumed he is dead). The three girls make it out alive and the fire department comes on scene and the movie fades to black. But just before the credits we see a scene where there are some girls who are leaving the house and they show a hand with a scar on it which looks like that of the dead girl’s boyfriend.

A Thousand Words is not a bad movie, a bit more touching than I expected and good humor as you would expect from Eddie Murphy but not overly funny. The movie is based around a successful mouthy agent (Eddie Murphy) who sets out to sell the book made by an influential spiritual activist, while at the activist’s monastery he cuts his hand on a tree. The agent after signing the activist goes to visit his mother who is suffering from Dementia and there you find out about the agent’s immense hatred for his father. Later that same night the same tree that he had cut his hand on magically shows up at his home but he does not take note of it as he thinks of it as a present. When he reaches to work the next day and finds out about the “book” that he had just signed to be published he sets out to see the spiritual activist who is surprised by his notion that he the activist sent the agent the tree and there they notice that every time the agent spoke a word the tree lost a leaf and the agent is advised not to speak. When he realizes that if the tree lost all its leaves he could die he sets out to try to remedy this by doing good deeds. (that is the whole starting sorry couldn’t resist but if you want to know how it ends watch the movie)

Not a bad family movie, had a lot of laughs and the special effects are amazing. It makes you wish that the island was real. The movie is based around the mysterious island which Jules Verne and other famous writers wrote about (Gulliver’s Travels being one of the books that talked about this island). Sean’s grandfather who has been searching for this island for most of his life finally found it and sends an encoded message to his grandson who winds up getting himself into trouble trying to receive the message. Upon receiving the message he unwillingly partners with his stepfather to decipher the code and reveal the location of the mysterious island. What they don’t calculate is that the island is protected by storms which make the island inaccessible.

Truly a great movie to watch, the story is told well and is very touching. It makes you thankful for the sacrifice that those men and women are doing on a daily basis. The movie has a lot of action and a lot of people getting killed. The movie is based around an elite group of navy seals who have to go and rescue a CIA agent who has been captured. After capturing her they find out that she was actually investigating a terrorist organisation and its ties to a smuggler. This movie shows the strong friendship between the group and their families. It also shows the different things that can go wrong during a mission and how much communication plays in everything they do.

American Pie the first three movies were the best and this one just made me remember why. American Pie 1 introduced us to these crazy yet loveable characters that made you laugh until you cry and this was followed up by American Pie 2 and American Wedding and then it went downhill, but American Reunion brings back the original characters and they are still as crazy as when we last saw them.

Jim: still married and has a son

Kevin: also married

Stifler: same as when we last saw him,

Finch: is now a “world traveler”

Oz: is now a famous celebrity

These old friends get back together for the reunion and jumps back into their wild teenager years just as if nothing had changed. The movie has a lot of laughs and Jim getting himself into some precarious situations. the “milf guys” are separated now too and we finally get to see finch’s mom. If you watched the first three American Pie movies then you will enjoy this movie and even if you didn’t you still will.

Action, Thriller, Sci-Fi

I would have to say this movie is below what I had expected. From the trailer it looked to be a none-stop action movie, well it was kind of like in the beginning and there were some witty comments and what seemed intended to be jokes. Besides that the movie was disappointing, if you are an action fanatic don’t watch this movie, the special effects and explosions seem rather fake and the story-line was the worst thing of all. If the black guy had just left the gun at the counter there would not be a movie and he was actually kind of stupid shooting a control panel is not the answer to everything, and then caused his own death and nearly killed one of the main characters.

The story-line: If you build a maximum security prison for the “worst of the worst criminals” then why would you give a fuck whether the facility is using them as experiments or whether they are having side effects from “stasis” seems rather idiotic, if you ever have a problem you just blow it the fuck out the sky end of story.

The characters: the female main character she was too predictable, seriously falling in love with the guy who came to save you, seen it everywhere. The guy that saved her he was pretty good, but there was lacking of a decent fight scene, you’re in a prison with 500 crazy ass motherfuckers and they don’t even show him beating the fuck out of none of them. The black guy that went with the president’s daughter (female main character) he is who should have actually been killed by those criminals, the warden said “NO FUCKING GUNS ON THE PRISONER’S SIDE” and this guy still sneaks in a gun, and well you know criminals are crafty he lost the gun, shit got real people started dying. The president he was okay too believable even but that’s as far as it goes. The black secret service guy I actually liked him until in the end when I found out he was a snitch. The other secret service guy (the one that acted “tough”) turned out to be a good guy seriously did not expect that. The warden that guy was a pussy and  almost gave away that they had the president’s daughter. The woman who got shot I actually liked her. The head criminal his role was believable too but his crazy brother I would have killed him a long time ago.

That is the whole crappy movie in a nut shell. Sorry about the cursing I get that way when I watch crap.
